Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is continuing the second section of the high-capacity rail project – Westside Purple Line Subway Extension Project – Section 2 – with an additional 2.59 mile of tracks. The expansion will include two new stations at Wilshire/Rodeo to Century Part East/Constellation. In preparation to construct this segment of the rail, businesses in Beverly Hills and Century City were permanently be displaced.
DRA wrote the relocation plan for the Section 2 project. The relocation activities were administered to all eligible businesses under the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and subsequent amendments. DRA conducted surveys to understand each business operation.
Relocation assistance for business occupants were based upon the estimated actual, reasonable, and necessary costs to disconnect and reconnect personal property from the displacement site to a replacement site. The project required expertise such as: bank relocation, cell phone tower FCC guidelines, and medical laboratory processes and procedures.
The project site was comprised of: a bank, restaurants, offices, medical laboratory, daycare center, and fitness centers.
