Groundwater Reliability Improvement Program (GRIP) will replace most, if not all, of the imported water purchased for replenishment in the Montebello Forebay Spreading Grounds with recycled water, thus reducing the region’s reliance on imported water. WRD currently uses approximately 50,000 acre-feet per year of disinfected tertiary treated recycled water and 21,000 acre-feet of imported water for conservation in the Montebello Forebay Spreading Grounds. In addition to these two sources, WRD works closely with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works to maximize the capture of available stormwater. DRA’s outreach activities include public advocacy and awareness campaigns, identifying, developing, and implementing various outreach methods to best reach stakeholders.
